Getting Started
Getting ready for your first time breathing underwater is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Scuba Fundamentals
Learn fundamental dive skills and safety from PADI, the world leader in diver education. Choose traditional classroom learning with an instructor or convenient online training that can be completed on your schedule.
Traditional Class
- Read the PADI Open Water manual, view the PADI Open Water DVD and attend two classroom sessions.
Online Training
Choose from PADI eLearning (use on your desktop or laptop computer), or PADI Open Water Touch (for iPad or Android tablets). We are available by e-mail if you have any questions while completing your online training.
Pool Practice
Master basic scuba skills in a local pool. Your instructor will demonstrate the skills you have seen in the PADI videos, and then you will practice them in the pool until you are comfortable.
We maintain small class sizes to better serve your learning needs, scheduling options from Saturday & Sunday pool dives, to convenient weekday evening sessions after work.
Open Water
The last step is four dives in “open water.” Our dive sites include the local quarry, and manatee dives in Crystal River. We can also arrange for you to complete your open water dives in a tropical destination of your choosing.
Divers@Sea offers PADI certifications, the most widely known, and sought after scuba diving credentials in the world. PADI is the world’s largest and most respected scuba diving training organization. For those who are uncertain if they will like scuba, there is a “Discover Scuba” pool experience.
Beginning classes are offered monthly. If you have an upcoming trip, let us know. Private and semi-private classes can be arranged for any schedule.
